Marshall County Family Establishes Scholarship Endowment with Columbia State Foundation

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. Jan 22, 2019) - - - Columbia State Community College recently received a scholarship endowment from Marsha and W.H. (Billy) Coble Jr.

Billy, a Marshall County native, desires to give back to his community by supporting students in their postsecondary education.

“Mr. Coble emphasized from our first conversation that he wanted these funds to be used in a way that would best help Marshall County students complete their college education,” said Bethany Lay, Columbia State vice president for advancement and executive director of the Columbia State Foundation. “We are very appreciative of the Coble’s generosity that will do good for many years to come.”

The scholarship is for full or part-time Columbia State students seeking a certificate or associate degree. Preference will be given to students with financial need living in Marshall County, and, if funds are available, to students with financial need living in adjacent counties.

To be considered for this scholarship, a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Columbia State scholarship application are required. More information can be found at www.ColumbiaState.edu/FinancialAid.
