(CLIFTON, Tenn. - May 7, 2013) - - - Columbia State Community College's Clifton campus will begin its summer hours on Monday, May 13 and extend through Friday, July 5. During this time, the campus will only be open on Monday of each week, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., in order to assist students in completing their application and registering for classes for the Fall 2013 semester.

From Monday, July 8 through Friday, August 2, the campus hours will expand to three days - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week. On Monday, August 5, the Clifton campus will resume its normal operating hours.

"Wayne and surrounding counties students may still enroll for summer classes at other Columbia State locations," said Dr. Shanna Jackson, dean of extended services. "This schedule will allow us to maximize college resources while still providing quality services to students in the area."

The college will continue to offer special events during the summer as planned, including COMPASS testing, Right Start Orientations for incoming freshmen, and the Summer Math Academy for students who have completed 6th, 7th and 8th grade.

In addition, the college is pleased to announce that Cissy Holt, director of the Lawrence County campus, will also be serving as the interim campus director for the Clifton campus. Holt has been with the college since 1993 and has also served as an adjunct professor of English.

"I am looking forward to working with students and members of the community to increase learning opportunities for the citizens of Wayne County and surrounding communities," said Holt.

The college is also looking to fill the position of campus coordinator. This position will be responsible for the planning and delivery of student services at the campus and community outreach. It is expected that the campus coordinator will be named by June 2013.
