(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 7, 2012) - - - Jesse Cook lights up the Cherry Theater stage on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. with flamenco and jazz fusion guitar music as Columbia State Community College welcomes the next performance in the 2012-2013 First Farmer's Performance Series. Cook is famous for blending his world of musical influences, creating a hybrid and blended performance that is traditional and edgy.

The charismatic entertainer has sold more than a million albums, recorded seven studio albums and two live DVDs and has traveled the world exploring musical traditions that he has blended into his style of rumba flamenco. In addition to headlining concerts and festivals, he has opened for such legends as B.B. King, Ray Charles and Diana Krall. He has performed with Welsh soprano Charlotte Church on The Tonight Show and toured with legendary Irish band, The Chieftains.

As part of his appearance at Columbia State, Cook will conduct a master class for the college's music and international studies students.

The Cherry Theater is in the Waymon L. Hickman building on the Columbia campus. Individual tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are also available from the ticket office in room 108 of the Pryor Administration building, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The box office, located in room 100A of the Waymon L. Hickman building, will open one hour prior to each performance.
