College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The CLEP is a computer based testing that is offered through Columbia State Community College Testing Services.  CLEP allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating their mastery of college level material in introductory subjects, while saving you time and money.

Please note that you are required to wait three (3) months before retaking the test.

How to Apply:

  1. Go to CLEP College Board and register (this pays the CLEP fee per test)
  2. Columbia State students make an appointment through this Online Scheduler.
  3. Non Columbia State students make an appointment through this Online Scheduler.
  4. Pay a college fee of $25 at the Business Office or by calling 931.540.2530 and provide CLEP registration ticket and College receipt to testing.

Cost Per Test:

  • $95 to CLEP
  • $25 to Columbia State

Veterans and Military Personnel:

Depending on their benefits election, some veterans can claim full reimbursement for CLEP exams under provision of the Veteran’s Benefit Improvement Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-454), which enhances the education benefits of the Montgomery GI Bill ®.
