Auditions to be Held on September 9

(Columbia, Tenn. - August 25, 2011) - - - Columbia State Community College in conjunction with Class Act Productions will present Pinosio: A Middle Tennessee Fairy Tale on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 in the Ledbetter Auditorium located in the Frank G. Clement building on the Columbia campus. Pinosio returns to Columbia State for the first time in over a decade and is based on a regional retelling of the classic Pinocchio. The production is set "somewhere between Lewisburg and Culleoka" and features a cast of local types. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the door.

This family friendly play features Bobby Ray Geppetto who lives with his Pit Bullio in lonely solitude. Although the Pot-Pie Baking Widow Lady Down the Road is ready to offer him company, Bobby Ray longs for a son, even if he has to whittle him one. The Sniffinsnuffer twins, the Blue Fairy, Jimbo Cricket and many more complete the whimsical cast. This play is written and directed by Beverly Mitchell, Associate Professor of English at Columbia State.

Auditions will be held on Friday, September 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium. Parts are available for men and women of most ages. Newcomers to the stage are encouraged to participate. Rehearsals will be held every Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cast members will not be called to every rehearsal; however, they should be able to commit to being at the majority.
