Spence Dowlen

Instructor of Biology

I earned a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Arizona in 1985. However, I did not enter the nuclear industry and instead managed road and bridge construction projects and later branched into home construction and remodeling. After 11 years in the construction industry, I began to develop an interest in Biology. The more I learned, the more fascinated I became. I ended up going back to school at Middle Tennessee State University and earned a M.S. in Biology in 2002. Since that time I have had a wonderful time teaching biology at the community college level. I also enjoy flying (I am a pilot rated for single-engine planes and gliders) and spending time with my wife, Amy.
