Details:

In this Halloween edition of Celebrating Our American Heritage, Dr. Anna M. Duch will discuss the Salem Witch Trials and their context in history. Beginning with the European Witch Trials that came before them, this lecture will wind its way through the Reformation and the first appearance of Puritans, as well as their reasons for founding an American colony. Upon arrival in Salem, we'll meet some of the prominent figures -- who may or may not resemble the folks we see in the stage play, the Crucible. Once again Dr. Duch will "ruin" the popular image of history and dig down into what might have happened at Salem and what we know did happen at Salem. Not all the scary things in the woods are witches....
