Sigma Kappa Delta on stage receiving awards

Sigma Kappa Delta

Welcome to the Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta!

As a National Honor Society, we offer students opportunities for leadership, fellowship, service, and scholarship. As an Ivy Chapter, we are recognized as one of the top colleges with a nationally recognized outstanding chapter. We are located at Columbia State Community College in Tennessee. Sigma Kappa Delta usually has a meeting, poetry/game night, a field trip (such as Southern Festival of Books or Reader's Riot or a play based on a novel), an induction ceremony, and a service project (such as "You Go, Girl" campaign, children's book drive, Project Graduation, or Dolly Parton's Imagination Library) each semester. So, within a year, we would have had multiple meetings, game nights, poetry nights, field trips, induction ceremonies, and service projects. We usually have an officer election in the Spring semester, and officers serve for one year. Officer positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. We have been active even in this virtual environment having meetings, game nights, a virtual field trip to the Southern Festival of Books, and an induction ceremony virtually.

In order to join Sigma Kappa Delta, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, a B or better in all English courses, and a minimum of 12 completed credit hours of college coursework. It is a one-time payment of $45 (including both national and local dues). Upon joining, students are eligible for scholarships, contests, officer positions, and also receive an honor pin to wear for graduation. Members also receive special recognition on their academic transcripts.
