Brightwood and Virginia College Students

Columbia State is actively working to assist students that have been affected by the sudden closing of Brightwood College and Virginia College. Columbia State representatives are available to discuss academic plans, evaluate transfer credit and get you back on the path to meeting your educational goals.

Transfer Credit

Columbia State will work with students individually to review their previous coursework to determine transfer credit and the best path forward toward earning a degree or certificate.

Prior Learning Assessment

Columbia State also awards credit for prior learning through credit by exam and credit for past training, such as some certifications. Learn more about Prior Learning Assessment.

Financial Aid
