HASS Lectures: Galen Hull on the Greatest Partnership FDR and Cordell Hull

Dr. Hull will discuss the splendid partnership between the superbly original and innovative president, Frank Delano Roosevelt and Cordell Hull, Tennessee's supremely practical and efficient political avatar. This was a marriage or two political geniuses who could manage government, produce astounding works, and work with a wide range of diverse personalities. Join us for an insight into two of the world's great heroes of American politics. Hull was a quiet and modest man, and though Roosevelt had suffered from polio since 1920 and totally lost the use of legs he was a dynamo of charisma and energy. Roosevelt was so popular he was in movies and even appeared in the popular little Orphan Annie comic strip.
