Red nametage for FAFASA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

When applying for financial aid, navigating the many forms and deadlines can be a daunting experience. On these pages, we’ll try to make the process as simple as possible.

One more thing before you start the process: Remember that before you can receive financial aid at Columbia State Community College, YOU MUST BE ADMITTED AS A STUDENT. If you have not applied for admission to Columbia State Community College, please go to the Admissions page.

STEP 1: Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
When it comes to financial aid, everything starts with FAFSA.

STEP 2: Obtain Your Student Aid Report (SAR).
This lists your FAFSA information as well as a government-generated estimate on how much you and/or your family could contribute toward your education.

STEP 3: Receive and view your award notification.
Once all the paperwork is in, it’s time to see what types of aid you’ll receive.

STEP 4: Apply for scholarships.
