Community Outreach

Community Outreach

Since its founding in 1967, Columbia State has helped educate the sons and daughters of the surrounding nine-county area it serves.

Not surprisingly, these same students (along with the faculty and staff) continually look for ways to give back to the communities from which they come.

Below are just a few of the programs, initiatives and charities to which Columbia State students, faculty and staff have contributed time or funds:

  • Summer Math Academy
  • The “Walk This Way” Breast Cancer Awareness Walk
  • Christmas Toy Drive for the Williamson County Fire Department
  • Thanksgiving Food Drive for Graceworks
  • Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society
  • Boys and Girls Club Fall Festival
  • The Annual Diaper and Wipe Collection Drive for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services
  • Maury County Cleanup
  • Gently Used Books and Food Drive
  • Annual food donations for Maury County food bank
  • Angel Tree
  • Lungs of Steel 5k Race
  • Canned Food Drive benefitting God’s Storehouse
  • Blood drive for the American Red Cross
  • “Soles to Souls” used shoe collection for the needy
  • Delivery of 30 filled Easter baskets to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital
  • Creation and presentation of a smoking awareness program to area schools each Fall
