"We're getting the tassel at Columbia State," says General Transfer students, Mandy Degraff, Laine Beyer and Danielle May.

More than half of the students at the Williamson County Campus of Columbia State are pursuing four year degrees. We provide general transfer programs to help Williamson County students get the first two years toward bachelors’ degrees in business, education, sciences, humanities and other areas.

Credits transfer to the college of the student’s choice, and in the end, they’ve saved money during their first two years and leave school with less debt. Spring Hill’s Mandy DeGraff (left), is taking courses at Columbia State in order to transfer to a university and study dental hygiene. Franklin’s Laine Beyer (middle) will transfer to UT Knoxville for hospitality after two years at the Williamson County Campus, and Franklin’s Danielle May (right), will transfer to a university to study pharmacy.

They say: “Columbia State’s Williamson County Campus offers a friendly environment, as people are very interpersonal. We enjoy the intimate classroom sizes, great offerings and quality instructors.”

Their classmate, Matt Payne (not pictured), recently graduated from Franklin High School and works full time at J.Alexander’s in Cool Springs to pay for school. He will transfer to UT Knoxville after two years at the Williamson County Campus. Payne tells us: “Columbia State is flexible and allows me to work and earn my degree. Convenience is key and the Williamson County Campus is conducive to my busy schedule. It is a great transition place for students coming out of high school to build a foundation and prepare for a larger school while also working towards a degree.”
