COLUMBIA STATE ACCEPTS ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

(Columbia, Tenn. – February 24, 2012) - - - Do you know of a Columbia State Community College alum that is stellar in their personal accomplishments, shines in their career and is an advocate for the college? The office of Alumni Relations is currently seeking nominations for the Alumnus of the Year award. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 30, 2012.

The honor has been granted once a year since 1985 to a Columbia State graduate who has met criteria established in four key areas: community leadership, service to the college community, distinction in professional field and personal and professional honor and awards.

Nominations may be submitted by alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the college. To nominate a Columbia State alumnus for the award, please contact Beth Duffield at (931) 540-2554 or download the nomination form at www.columbiastate.edu/Alumnus-of-the-Year.

In 1968, 37 students graduated from Columbia State’s first graduating class. In 2009, approximately 600 students graduated in one of the College’s degree or certificate programs. To date, we have more than 12,000 success stories.
