COLUMBIA STATE HOSTS SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT

(Columbia, Tenn. – April 21, 2011) - - - Columbia State Community College will host its 19th annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on Monday, May 16 at Graymere Country Club in Columbia, Tennessee. The tournament, played as a four-person scramble, will begin with registration at 10:30 a.m., lunch at 11 a.m., followed by golf at noon.

“This year marks the 19th annual Columbia golf classic benefitting students who attend Columbia State in Maury County,” said Beth Duffield, development officer for alumni relations and community events at Columbia State. “The outing this year, which will once again be sponsored by the Pressnell family, is more important than ever as our students are faced with increasing expenses and families struggle to make ends meet.  In the last five years, this tournament has provided 92 students with scholarships totaling more than $47,000.  This wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of this community.”  All proceeds from this tournament go directly to fund student scholarships.

Teams can enter the tournament at $650 per team. The entry fee includes cart, green fees, range, individual prizes, team prizes, goodie bag, lunch, two mulligans per player, one red tee per player and entry into the putting contest and a tee sign with the sponsoring team’s logo displayed.

Team spots and tee sponsorships are still available, contact Beth Duffield at (931) 540-2554, or Crystal Keeton at (931) 540-2512.
