(Columbia, Tenn. – April 19, 2011) - - - The Columbia State Community College Choir performed a choral program at the Tennessee Music Educators' Conference at Opryland on Friday, April 8. This is a "first" for Columbia State and congratulations is extended to the students for their hard work and dedication! The group was directed by Emily Gaskill, Choral Director and Assistant Professor of Music and accompanied by Marsha Scheusner, adjunct music faculty.
"I was very proud of the choir and Columbia State's representation in the Tennessee music community," said Gaskill. "The choir performed beautifully and received numerous compliments from music teachers and professors who attended their program."
The choir will be participating in the upcoming Maury County Choral Festival on April 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Columbia Central High School. The choir will also perform in the Columbia State Music Department Spring Program on April 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium on the Columbia campus. Both events are free and open to the public.
