Donation Made in Support of Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care Programs
Columbia State Community College received a $10,950 donation in support of the College’s radiologic technology and respiratory care programs from Maury Regional Hospital Foundation via the Waymon L. Hickman Recognition Luncheon in October 2008, orchestrated by Tim Pettus. The luncheon itself raised a total of $50,000.
Both the respiratory care and radiologic technology departments established a scholarship application for the award and formed a committee to determine who would receive the funds this year. Jennifer Harrod, a Radiologic Technology student from Hampshire, and Chasity Brook Gooch, a Respiratory Care student from St. Joseph, were the recipients.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Maury Regional Hospital Foundation, Columbia State continues to provide enhanced financial assistance opportunities for deserving allied health students,” said Dr. Janet Smith, President of Columbia State Community College. “Community organizations giving back to higher education truly pays off and – in this case – helps us in our endeavor of providing top notch health care professionals to Middle Tennessee.
