ONE-MAN SHOW AT COLUMBIA STATE’S LEDBETTER AUDITORIUM
Performance Is Free and Open to the Public
Columbia State Community College’s Lyceum Committee and Office of Student Services are once again presenting the phenomenal Mark Cabus of TPAC performing his stunning one-man show of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Monday, December 7 at 11 a.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium. The show is complimentary and open to the public.
Cabus has been performing the exciting and participatory rendition of the Christmas classic which resonates a story of love and rejuvenation that should reach all during the frantic holiday season.
“Cabus is a brilliant performer completely attuned to the story, the craft of solo acting, and the audience’s needs for fulfillment and reclamation—He performs the work with gusto and relives the events in remarkable presence. It is certainly compelling and challenging theatre, yet happy, simple, and brimming with atmosphere,” said Stuart Lenig, professor of speech and drama at Columbia State.
Local critics have raved about Cabus’ interpretation of the classic nineteenth century tale. The Tennessean referred to it as "the most electric performance of the season,” and the Nashville Scene dubbed it "destined to be a cult classic."
Don’t miss Mark Cabus’ brilliant rendition of this holiday classic, a play that not only teaches moral lessons and tells a good story, but shows us a masterwork of acting, where Cabus visits 34 separate characters during the performance, including everyone from ghosts to Scrooge and Tiny Tim. The event is free to all in the community. “It’s a fun time for children and families,” said Lenig.
