Teaching and Learning Center Policy for Requesting a Tutor in a subject not currently provided:
Students who desire tutoring during fall and spring semesters in a subject not listed on the Tutoring Schedule may make a request to the Teaching and Learning Center. Due to limited tutor availability we are unable to accommodate special requests during the summer semester.
If at least five (5) students in a particular course need a tutor, the TLC will make every effort to find a tutor for the requested course.
Students requesting a tutor must commit to attend the tutoring sessions at least once a week. When the tutor for the course becomes available, all currently enrolled students will be notified via Columbia State email of the tutoring schedule.
Some courses not offered on our tutoring schedule may be offered through online tutoring through www.Smarthinking.com.
How to Request a Tutor for a subject not currently provided:
Please email the Teaching and Learning Center at tutoring@columbiastate.edu. We will only accept these requests via email. You must provide the following information in your email:
- Your name
- Course you need tutoring in
- Name of Instructor
- Which campus you are requesting tutoring at
- What days and times you may need available for tutoring
