CEN Annual Open House Friday, March 16
(FRANKLIN, Tenn. – March 7, 2012) - - - With more than 20 years of success in guiding commercial vocalists, dancers, songwriters, actors and stage technicians who want to turn talent into a career, Columbia State Community College’s Commercial Entertainment program is hosting the Annual Open House on Friday, March 16 from 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. After the show, everyone is invited to hang around for a tour of the dance studio, recording studio, stage craft shop and the midi lab.
"The Commercial Entertainment program was established to cultivate serious country and pop singers, dancers, actors and songwriters to help them learn how to take enthusiasm and talent and turn it into a successful business venture,” Program Director Cathy Hudnall said.
“We’re really excited about introducing budding artists from the greater Williamson County area to what we do here,” she said.
“There are a lot of performers who may be really talented in dance or songwriting, but who need to learn other performance skills in order to participate in a show. For instance, an actor may need to learn basic dance technique or a singer may need to learn stage presentation skills,” Hudnall said. “And we know that there are many performers who need to learn how to balance the business of being a performer with the need to earn a living.”
The Open House is free and open to the public. The Williamson County campus is located at 104 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin.
