(COLUMBIA, Tenn. – June 18, 2012) - - - Columbia State Community College’s Lewisburg campus hosted its 16th annual James R. Moon Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 7 at Saddle Creek Golf Club in Lewisburg, Tennessee. With a full field and great weather, everyone had a good time while raising approximately $18,000 in scholarship funds.
The team from Chapel Hill Lions Club, Dean Delk, Scott Delk, Joe Liggett and Kevin Snell, took home the honors in flight one, while Southern Carton and U.S. Tank and Cryogenics led the field in flights two and three.
“We are so appreciative of the committee members, sponsors, donors, golfers and volunteers who helped make this day such a success,” said Elizabeth McDow, director of the Columbia State Lewisburg campus. “The proceeds of this tournament will continue to supply scholarships to Marshall County students who attend classes at the Columbia State Lewisburg campus.”
The annual tournament honors the late James R. Moon, businessman, industrialist, educator, golf enthusiast and outstanding citizen of Marshall County. The proceeds provide scholarships for students who attend Columbia State’s Lewisburg Campus. Scholarships are awarded based on academic history and community service activities.
