CHORUS AND INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLE TO LIGHT UP STAGE AT COLUMBIA STATE

Performance Free and Open to the Public Thursday, April 19

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. – March 16, 2012) - - - The classical music of J.S. Bach and G.P. Telemann, along with folk selections and spirituals will light up the Ledbetter Auditorium with the Columbia State Community College chorus and instrumental performance ensemble as they join forces in a Thursday, April 19 concert beginning at 1 p.m.

“We are happy to showcase the talent of our Columbia State choir and performance ensemble,” said Emily Gaskill, an assistant professor of music at Columbia State. “The program will cover a range of musical pieces, from J.S. Bach to an African spiritual. There is something for everyone to enjoy.”
    
The chorus, under the direction of Gaskill, and the instrumental performance ensemble, under the leadership of Associate Professor Mark Lee, are a central part of Columbia State’s department of music.

The Ledbetter Auditorium is located in the Frank G. Clement building on the main campus, which is at 1665 Hampshire Pike in Columbia. The concert is free and open to the public.
