Art instructors Fred Behrens and Herbert Cobb will be featured alongside other community college colleagues in Middle Tennessee State University’s upcoming art exhibit. The artwork will be on display September 17 until October 4 at MTSU's Todd Gallery. Behrens’ works are large-format acrylics, colorful and non-representational paintings, and Cobb’s artwork represents the digital medium. A closing reception will be held October 4 from 6-8 p.m. The show is free and open to the public.

The first meeting of the presidential search advisory committee for Columbia State was held September 19 on the Columbia State campus. The advisory committee reviewed and agreed upon the process it will use in the search. Resumes of the applicants and nominees were reviewed for the presidential position. Forty-five applications have been received. President Rebecca Hawkins, who has served since 1996, announced earlier this year that she will be retiring at the end of December. Chancellor Manning expects to have the new president in place in January.
