These short tutorials are designed to be done in order. You
can look at just the one you need, but it may refer to something in an earlier
tutorial. Remember, when in doubt, highlight the
text you want to change, and right click!
-
Displaying Full Toolbars (to see all the buttons)
-
Turning on "Print Layout" (to make your screen
look more like a sheet of paper)
-
Setting Margins (to get rid of those whopping 1.25
inch side margins!)
-
The "Show/Hide" Feature (to display your tabs,
spaces, and line breaks)
(This is especially useful if your lines are wrapping
and breaking in funny places)
-
Lining up Your Text (to center text, line it up
with the right side of page, and indent it)
-
Double Spacing Your Text (Don't use the
"Enter" key!)
-
Block Quotes (to format long quotes)
(Don't use the "Tab" key!)
-
Hanging Indents (to format Works Cited pages)
(Don't use the "Tab" key!)
And coming soon --
- Using "Print Preview" (You don't need to print
that 20-page document out until you're sure it looks right)
- Saving and Finding Files
