Using e-Journals

If you want to look up articles on a specific subject, don't use the "E-journal" link. Instead, go to one of these links:

  • A quick list of article databases by broad subjects (your best bet if you are just getting started).
  • An alphabetical list of all article databases, with detailed descriptions and years of coverage.
  • "Federated" searching: access multiple databases with one search. Arranged by subject.

The "E-journal" link won't take you to an article database. It's not a way to look up articles by subject. Instead, using the "E-journal" link is the electronic equivalent of pulling a stack of magazines or journals off the shelf and going through them one at a time.

There are two times to use the "E-journal" link:

  1. If you have a citation (journal title, article title, and date) for a specific article, you might be able to find that article in one of our e-journals. Please ask a library staff member for assistance -- right now we only have a handful of titles available as e-journals.
  2. If you want to read current issues of one of our e-journal titles.
