Database	Description
*Academic OneFile*	Supplies access to peer-reviewed articles in the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. Includes full-text coverage of the New York Times back to 1995; and transcripts of podcasts and broadcasts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC.

*America's Newspapers*	The electronic editions of record for local, regional, and national U.S. newspapers. Each paper provides such news as local companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people. Paid ads are excluded. Can be searched in subsets, such as: newspapers of individual states (including Tennessee) newspapers of major U.S. cities major news magazines

Anatomy TV	Primarily an online anatomy tutorial, also lets you retrieve articles from the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy.

Applied Science Full Text	Indexing of journals in the applied sciences (many peer-reviewed), covering such topics as acoustics, applied mathematics, automotive engineering, computers, biomedical materials, industrial engineering, oceanography, physics, and more. Some full text, including graphs, diagrams, and photos.

Art Full Text	Indexing of journals (some full text) in the arts, covering such topics as crafts, decorative arts, film, graphic arts, interior design, landscape architecture, painting, photography, television, textiles, video and more.

Art Retrospective	Indexing only (no full text) of topics in art, such as advertising, archaeology, film, landscape architecture, television, and more.

ARTstor	A digital library offering coherent collections of art images and descriptive information as well as the software tools to enable active use of the collections. The content includes over 300,000 images covering art, architecture and archeology.

Biography Resource Center	Covers notable individuals from around the world, throughout history and across all discipline areas. Info is compiled from books, journals, fact sheets, and web sites.

Biological & Agricultural Index Plus	Indexing (some full text) of journals in biology and agriculture, covering such topics as agricultural chemicals, economics, and research, animal sciences, biochemistry, biology, botany, ecology, forestry, horticulture, microbiology, physiology, plant pathology, veterinary medicine, zoology and more.

Business Full Text	Indexing (some full text) of business periodicals, including the New York Times Business Section and the Wall Street Journal. Includes product reviews, interviews, biographical sketches, corporate profiles, surveys, and book reviews.

Choice Reviews Online	Not a database indexing multiple publications, but a link to the online version of the American Library Association's reviews of recently published materials for academic libraries.

Chronicle of Higher Education	Not a database indexing multiple publications, but a link to the online version of the Chronicle of Higher Education weekly newspaper.

CINAHL with Full Text	The Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature database provides indexing for journals from the fields of nursing and allied health, with many records including the full text of the article. Also included are legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials.

Classical Music Library	Includes tens of thousands of licensed recordings from earliest Gregorian chants to works by modern composers. The audio selections are searchable through a database of supplementary reference information. Users browse, search, click, and then listen to the music over the Internet.

Computer Database	Computer-related news and product reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications, and technology applications.

Education Full Text	Indexing, with some full text, of periodicals, monographs and yearbooks. Coverage includes some publications not covered by ERIC.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Online	Includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the Britannica Book of the Year. Also includes an Internet directory with more than 130,000 links to rated and reviewed Web sites.

ERIC.gov	The Educational Resource Information Center database contains over a million citations to a collection of education-related resources, from government reports to journal articles. Many of the records include the full text of the document or journal article indexed.

Expanded Academic Index	Access to the core journals for major academic subjects plus national newsmagazines and indexing for the last six months of the New York Times.

*FMG Video on Demand*	A collection of primarily educational videos viewable over the Internet. No longer requires a login and password.

Gale Literary Databases	Comprised of Contemporary Authors (biographical info on modern authors) and Contemporary Literary Criticism (critical essays on modern authors).

Gale Virtual Reference Library	An e-book collection, containing reference books in the areas of business, environment, history, law, medicine, multicultural studies, nation and world, science, and social science.

General Business File ASAP	Access to indexing (with much full text) of business & management journals, industry/trade journals, business related economics journals, broker investment reports, company directory listings, newswire releases, and trade publications.

General OneFile	Indexing for general interest magazines, academic journals, national newspapers, and newswires. Many records contain the text of the article. This is the LARGEST database available through the library.

General Reference Center Gold	Indexing (with much full text) of articles from magazines, reference books, and newspapers. Wide variety of general interest subjects plus full-text newspaper articles from the Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor and the Knight-Ridder/Tribune News Service. Also includes indexing (no articles) from both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

General Science Full Text	Indexing of a broad range of fields in specialized journals as well as general interest periodicals. Some full text. Coverage includes biology, botany, chemistry, earth science, environment, food & nutrition, genetics, health & medicine, mathematics, microbiology, physics, physiology, and zoology.

Health and Wellness Resource Center	Index to general interest publications, health/medical journals, and pamphlets. Many records contain the text of the article. Covers both professional and consumer info on health and wellness. Provides authoritative entries from medical reference books and links to reputable health Web Sites.

Health Reference Center Academic	Index to general interest magazines, health/medical journals, pamphlets, newspaper articles, and newsletters. Many records contain the text of the article. Also includes topical overviews from Clinical Reference Systems and the contents of six authoritative medical reference books. I

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition	Provides access to scholarly journals, including Issues in Mental Health Nursing, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Journal of Nursing Management, Nursing Ethics, and many more. Many records contain the text of the article. In addition, this database includes the Lexi-PAL Drug Guide which contains generic drug patient education sheets.

Humanities Full Text	Indexing of scholarly sources in the humanities. Some full text. Includes feature articles, interviews, original works, and book and performance reviews in such areas as art, communications, dance, film, folklore, gender studies, history, journalism, literature, music, performing arts, and philosophy.

HeritageQuest	Biographical, genealogical, and local history information from books, periodicals, and census and other historical records.

Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text	Indexing of legal journals and books. Some full text. Topics covered include antitrust legislation, banking, constitutional law, court decisions labor law, legislation, minorities, multinational corporations, occupational health & safety, products liability, public law, and more.

Informe!	Indexing (some full-text) for Spanish language general interest periodicals.

InfoTrac Custom Newspapers	Provides access to articles from over 650 cover-to-cover newspapers from around the world. Can be searched by keyword, subject, title, date, author, and more. Most records include text of article.

InfoTrac Science	Provides access to 1600 science journals ranging from A Quarterly Journal of Operations Research to Zoomorphology, in areas from biology to zoology. Many records contain the text of the article.

*Issues and Controversies*	Provides balanced objective analysis for controversial topics. Includes special features such as chronologies, illustrations, maps, tables, sidebars, bibliographies, and contact information for additional research.

*K-12 Databases*	Various databases from InfoTrac, aimed at kindergarten through high school students.

LearningExpress Library	Practice tests and tutorials to help library patrons succeed on academic or licensing tests. Includes practice tests for civil service exams, GED, ACT, SAT, etc. Provides immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and individualized analysis of test results. Use of tests requires the creation of individual usernames and passwords; courses may be accessed without this.

Library Literature and Information Science Full Text	Indexing, with some full text, of periodicals, selected state journals, conference proceedings, pamphlets, books, and library school theses.

Literary Reference Center	Provides users with information on literature from antiquity to the present day, including author biographies, plot summaries & work overviews, author interviews, and the text of thousands of poems, short stories, and classic works. LRC is a completely full-text database that combines information from books, literary reference works such as many of the Magill/Salem Press series and Bloom's critical series, as well as hundreds of literary journals.

Literature Resource Center	Full-text access to author biographies, critical essays, literary journal articles, work overviews, plot summaries and explications, and links to authoritative related Web sites. Now includes articles from Scribner Writers Online, Twayne's Authors Online, and Southern Life (articles on topics relating to Southern living, both past and present, including people, places, and historical events). Also includes a link to the Merriam-Webster's® Encyclopedia of Literature.

Military & Intelligence Database	Covering more than only military topics, this database is designed for libraries serving military personnel. Additionally, the product includes some basic reference materials that are updated annually: Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia and World Almanac and Book of Facts. Many full text records. A subset of General OneFile.

National Newspaper Index	Indexing only (no full text articles) for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Christian Science Monitor, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times.

NetLibrary	Links to full-text books in a range of subject areas. Books are also available from the WebVoyage online catalog.

New York Times Newspaper	Digital reproductions of full-text and full-image articles in downloadable PDF® files of the New York Times newspaper. For articles less than 5 years old, use the Academic OneFile database.

Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive	Provides full text access to journals covering the areas of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences, consumer health and allied health disciplines. Nearly all full text titles included in Nursing & Allied Health: Comprehensive Edition are indexed in CINAHL.

Oxford English Dictionary	Online version of standard reference work. on the history of words in the English language. Gives current and historical meanings, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, supported by quotations of use.

Oxford Reference e-Books	Includes subject dictionaries, plus the World Encyclopedia, to cover topics in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences with quick-reference and in-depth articles. Contains both English and bilingual dictionaries, a range of Oxford Companions, and the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations. Has illustrations, maps, and timelines.

Points of View Reference Collection	A full-text database presenting multiple sides of a current issue. POV contains essays, articles from leading political magazines and reference books, newspapers, radio & TV news transcripts, and primary source documents, as well as The Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century.

*Professional Collection for Education*	Access to articles in periodicals for teachers and school administrators.

PsycARTICLES	Access to articles from journals published by the APA (the American Psychological Association) the CPA (the Canadian Psychological Association) and others.

Readers' Guide Full Text	Indexing (some full text) of popular periodicals, covering such topics as arts, computers, crafts, entertainment, fashion, food, gardening, history, home improvement, news & current events, photography, music, popular culture, sports & fitness, transportation, and travel.

Religion & Philosophy	Indexing and full-text of magazines and academic journals covering religion, philosophy, archaeology and anthropology. Use this database not only for theological approaches to social issues, but for the impact that religion has had on culture throughout history. A subset of General OneFile.

Safari Books Online	Provides access to e-books focusing on the computer and technical sciences.

Social Science Full Text	Indexing, (with some full text) of journals in the social sciences, covering such topics as addiction studies, community health & medical care, communications, criminal justice, economics, environmental studies, ethics, family studies, gender studies, geography, gerontology, law, mass media, minority studies, political science, psychology, public welfare, social work and sociology.

Southern Life	Articles on topics relating to Southern living, both past and present, including people, places, and historical events.

StatRef Medical Reference Books	A collection of medical reference e-books, including Current Diagnosis & Treatment books, the DSM-IV-TR™, the Dictionary of Medical Acronyms & Abbreviations and the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy. Additional works under “Resources” include Stedman's Medical Dictionary, MedCalc 3000, and PubMed.

*Wilson OmniFile Full Text Mega Edition*	Combines most of the information available through the H. W. Wilson databases. It provides indexing, and some full text, for magazine, journal, and some reference book articles in the following areas: applied science & technology, art, biology & agriculture, business, education, general science, humanities, law, library literature & information science, news, and social sciences.
