Sexual Harassment Training
Columbia State Community College provides this web-based, self-paced, interactive training course "Preventing Sexual Harassment" for information and training on sexual harassment that is readily accessible to all college faculty, staff, and students. Individual training can be taken at your own pace and at your convenience. It is the responsibility of all regular full-time and regular part-time college employees to satisfactorily complete (80% Mastery) the training program within a time period designated by the President. Students are encouraged to complete the on-line sexual harassment training course so they will be more aware of what constitutes sexual harassment.
Prior to Training, Review the Following Information:
Overview:
It takes approximately 45-60 minutes to move through program. The program gives history of harassment and review the law on the topic. The training is available in five editions: Faculty, Supervisory, Non-supervisory, Student and Guest. The results of the "Mastery Test" are sent directly to the Human Resources Office. The training and test directions should be clear and easy to follow, and a drop-down menu is available to move between training sections. It is self-paced and can be done in a private setting. The program covers the institution's requirements on sexual harassment training, and topics within the program are presented in a logical sequence, often with examples. Information is presented in a series of short pages. The program handles topics without creating embarrassment or defensiveness, and is appropriate for both supervisors and non-supervisory staff.
Outline of Program:
To move between pages, find the purple "CONTINUE" arrow at the top and/or bottom of the page. The program will start with several introductory pages, followed by the training lesson with practice test, and concludes with the Mastery Test.

Click the "Submit Test Results" button, and your test results will be automatically e-mailed to the Columbia State Human Resources e-mail account. The minimum passing score to receive certificate is 80 percent. If you've achieved the minimum score or higher, the program will create certificate that can be printed. Select the "Print Certificate from PC" option, retreive your page from the printer, and sign it (keep a copy for your records). Note: The certificate can only be printed from the screen at the time it is created, and is not saved by the program. The certificate must be printed when it appears on the PC screen.
Faculty and staff employees may forward a certificate to Columbia State Human Resources Office for placement in your personnel file. Students may keep a copy of the certificate for their personal records.
