Office of Grants Management - Celebrations

The grant funds received by Columbia State this year have been used to provide many services to Columbia State and the community.  With outside funding, the College is able to provide innovative opportunities that it would not be able to do otherwise.  Those who have written and managed these grants are to be celebrated.

Congratulations!                                    

 

Victoria Gay, Developmental Studies, completed and received the Geier grant for Improving Instruction.  The grant funds provided faculty professional development in Effective Student Assessment.

Christa Martin, Director of Minority Affairs, applied for and received three Geier grants from the Tennessee Board of Regents totaling $17,500.00.  Funds were used for faculty/administration recruitment and retention, student recruitment and retention and professional development.

Paul Rosson received a grant in the amount of $172,000.00 from the TN Governor’s Highway Safety Act to provide Spanish language training to area law enforcement. 

Dr. Paula Petty-Ward finished out a grant from the Department of Human Services to provide assistance to students with special needs. 

Molly Shepard received and managed a grant from the State Department of Education for the Tech Prep program.  The $112,927.00 grant provided services for high school students, professional development for teachers, and grants for area schools to improve instruction.

Sandra Serkownek received $16,923.00 from the State Tech Prep Office to develop a model sequence of courses in Computer Information Services. 

Billy Walters applied for and received $4197.00 in equipment discounts from Smart Kids Foundation.
