Developmental Writing (DSPW 0800) emphasizes paragraph and essay development through planning and revision. Classroom discussion and assignments are based on the textbook. Classroom discussion frequently focuses on grammatical and stylistic weaknesses that occur in student papers. Students attending the Columbia campus should be aware that writing assignments must be completed using Microsoft Word. Prior experience with word processing is not necessary.
