Veterinary Technology - Admissions Requirements

To apply to the Veterinary Technology Program, complete the following steps, in the order listed::

  1. Complete and submit an application for admission to the college.
  2. Forward an official high school (or GED) transcript, and any college transcripts, to the college. Have them mailed directly from the sending institution to:
    Columbia State Community College
    Office of Records
    1665 Hampshire Pike
    Columbia, TN 38401
  3. If under the age of 21, also forward ACT test scores to Columbia State. If English, math or composite scores are below 19, a placement test is required.
  4. Complete the Veterinary Technology Program Application (PDF).
  5. Complete the Autobiographical Statement (PDF)
  6. Complete the Technical Standards Agreement (PDF)
  7. Submit a letter of reference.
  8. Complete an eight-hour observation of the activities and duties of a licensed veterinary technician, including completion of the Observation Form (PDF)
  9. Schedule an interview by contacting the program director, and/or the selection committee. The director can be reached at (931) 540-2743 or by e-mail at wanamaker@columbiastate.edu.
  10. Review the Veterinary Technology Program Student Policy Manual (PDF), available on the VT website or at the Learning Resource Center at the main campus. Students must sign and submit the form on the last page of the manual.

Applications received after May 15 will be considered on a space available basis.
The program enrollment is limited and admission is not guaranteed. New classes begin only in the fall semester
