Nursing Program


Admission Process

The nursing program has enrollment limitations. This necessitates the screening of applicants, utilizing selection criteria that have been established for the program. General criteria for consideration are stated below.

  1. Students must complete a college application and meet all general requirements for admission, as stated in the catalog. Students must receive admission to the college before obtaining admission into the nursing program.
  2. Applicants must complete and send to the nursing department a nursing admission application. Submit the application to:
    Office of Health Sciences/Nursing Program
    Columbia State Community College
    1665 Hampshire Pike
    Columbia, TN 38401
  3. Students seeking admission by transferring from another nursing program are evaluated for transfer credit on an individual basis. Transfer students will be accepted on a space available basis. Applicants who seek to transfer from another nursing program will submit the following to the Director of Nursing:

        a. Application for transfer.
        b. Official transcript with appropriate course description(s).
        c. NLN achievement scores (if taken).
        d. Letter of recommendation from the dean/director of the previous program.
