Report an Animal Care Concern

Signs describing contact procedures for reporting misuse or abuse of animals used in teaching or research have been prominently posted in buildings across campus. The text of the sign is provided below:

Reporting Teaching Animal Abuse or Improper Care or Handling of Animals Used in the Veterinary Technology Program at Columbia State Community College.

The Veterinary Technology Program's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) will immediately investigate any allegation of abuse of teaching animals, or misconduct regarding animal use in teaching. You do not have to identify your self to make a report of animal abuse. If you choose to identify yourself to the IACUC, your identity will be kept in strictest confidence.

IACUC would like that information to facilitate gathering additional information about your complaint,
and if you request it, notification of outcome of the investigation. Any person making a complaint will
be protected by federal whistle‐blower statutes (see http://whistleblowerlaws.com/protection.htm),
and his/her anonymity will be strictly protected by the IACUC and the IACUC Office.
