Tradition, Tennessee Lives & Legacies
Folk art, as handed down from generation to generation, is the focus of, “Tradition, Tennessee Lives & Legacies,”
exhibit developed by the Tennessee Arts Commission. The wonderful
color photographs from around the state, taken by Nashville photographer
Dean Dixon, are complimented with various pieces obtained from several
Tennessee folk artists, including chairs with weaved- backs and bottoms,
white oak baskets, brooms, hand-made marbles and paintings. A
companion book, of the same title, features 25 engaging essays by Dr.
Roby Cogswell and is available for purchase by visiting www.tnarts.org.
