Home Schooled Students Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment for Home Schooled Students

Home schooled students must meet the same criteria outlined for any dual enrolling student. Students must be of junior or senior status to participate. College courses may apply towards high school graduation requirements, if approved by your umbrella program’s governing board. Students should verify through your umbrella program what course(s) can be taken for dual credit.

To qualify for dual enrollment a student must:

  • Have a 3.0 minimum high school GPA OR a 19 ACT composite score

See “How to apply” for step by step directions.

  • Please note that in addition to the on-line application, there are two forms that must be printed, the Consent form and the Hepatitis B form. These require the signature of the student, parent/guardian and the student’s umbrella program.. As the official keeper of student transcripts, the umbrella program must certify a student’s high school GPA and agree to student participation.
  • Students need to request their official transcripts and ACT or SAT scores be submitted to the Columbia State Admissions office.

It is suggested that all required documentation for a student’s admission (transcripts, ACT or SAT scores, Hepatitis B form and Consent form) be faxed to the umbrella program for submittal. The umbrella can sign the Consent form, supply the official high school transcripts, and then fax the block of information as a whole, to Columbia State Admissions for review. The admissions review process moves most efficiently when a students’ paperwork is submitted as one complete package.
